FAQs

  • Primary House: Chambertin2!!

    Casita: Welcome123

  • Air conditioning:

In the main house, you can adjust the temperature in 2 places: using the electronic pad thermostat on the living room wall, or in the top floor bedroom.

Please keep the temperature between 70 and 78 degrees, and don’t leave the A/C running when you leave the house.

In the Casita, there is a cooler switch near the kitchenette area. Turn on the pump first for 5 minutes or so, then turn to either low / high cool setting. Please also turn off cooling in the Casita when you leave!

    Heating

The house has radiant heat, so in the winter, the house will be pre-set to a comfortable temperature. Please do not try to adjust the heating system —because of the radiant heat, it takes several days to adjust the temperature. Thus, any change to the thermostats may cause strain on the entire system, and take several days to change, either higher or lower! If you need the heating changed, please contact us and we can have someone adjust it for you.

  • Trash should be sorted with recycling separate. When full, trash bags should be left in the outside bins (in fenced area in the lower driveway). There are two bins provided - trash and recycling. Trash must be bagged (no loose trash). Pickup is every Monday.

  • Most appliances have the manual stored in a drawer the room in which the appliance is used. Check for any manuals in nearby drawers and shelves if you need an instruction manual.

    Washer and dryer:

The washer and dryer are in the laundry room off the kitchen area. There is also a washer / dryer in the Casita. Both have manuals stored in the same room. All are fairly self explanatory, but instruction manuals are with the machine and/or in a drawers - check the kitchen drawers for the main laundry room.

    Coffee machines:

We have many options in the main house: a Chemex drip coffee maker for 2, an electric coffee pot (with gold reuseable filter included); and a Nespresso. Please bring your own pods for the Nespresso, but we will hopefully have whole bean coffee available. Bean grinder is with the other appliances.

    Dishwasher:

Please make sure the dishwasher is full (or close to full) before turning it on; regardless, please turn on the dishwasher as part of the checkout procedures to ensure no dishes are left dirty. You’ll find the dishwasher detergent under the kitchen counter.

  • We are in a fire zone, so need to stay very careful when managing fires in the fire places.

No fire can be left unattended, even if the fire is dying down and embers only.

Each fireplace should be used with the bottom grate and cover grate.

Do not light a fire if there are ashes or other debris in the fireplace. Tools and a bucket are provided to clean out debris before a fire is lit.

Please locate the nearest fire extinguisher before you light a fire, so you are aware of where it is. Fire extinguishers are on every level - under kitchen sink in kitchen, closet near front door, closet in upper room, under sink in lower kitchenette, under sink in Casita.

Please do not attempt to cook food in the fireplaces.

  • Lift the hot tub cover to find the electric operation pad on the front side of the hot tub. The temperature should be set to upper 90s when no one is staying at the house to conserve energy. Feel free to turn it up to use it when you are visiting - please do not turn it past 105-degrees.

Please return the temperature to 97 when you check out.

  • We have various professionals who help maintain the house including regular hot tub maintenance, pest control and gardeners.
